Teresa Anjinho elected as European Ombudsman

Teresa Anjinho was elected as the European Ombudsman by the European Parliament in December 2024 for a five-year term. She was sworn into office on February 27, 2025, and her responsibilities include investigating maladministration within the EU institutions, bodies, offices, and agencies. Previously, she served as the Deputy Ombudsman of Portugal and was the Secretary of State for Justice in the Portuguese government.
